Last Thursday night(31st May),Flufbanini's family wanted to have dinner before we left back for Penang. So uncle William(aka.his father) was deciding between Chilis and Jaya Grocer. The final decision was Jaya Grocer.
Alright the first thing that comes to anyone with the word GROCER, grocery market in the mall where you can buy pampers, dry food and probably some cold cuts right? And for dinner the RM2 fried rice and roast chicken would probably come across your mind.
Well, here's to prove all of you wrong,
This was a very interesting experience as we visited elFresco The Italiano Cafe which is locted within Jaya Grocer where you can actually buy poultry, fish, meat from the grocery market in Jaya Grocer and they will cook for you with no extra charges!
All you need to do is choose what you want from the meat section,go to elFresco The Italiano Cafe pay for the selected choice of meat or fish you want, and the Cafe will cook for you! There are variety of side dishes to choose from such as salad, pasta and they even serve pizza!
I would recommend this place as you know exactly what you are eating and the choice is in your hands. You get to see and pick your meal without having the fear of being served with the unknown of the food prior to cooking.
Jaya Grocer is located at
Lot LG-01 Lower Ground Floor,
Empire Gallery Shopping Centre,
SS16/1, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan
YES THE MALL WITH THE INDOOR SLIDE WHERE ADULTS CAN GET THEIR FIX ON THE SLIDE AS WELL =P
Just pick out the steak, salmon, meat you want(I chose Salmon) |
Pass the salmon over to the cashier |
Place your order for side dishes and any other meals you want |
Here's the menu for your viewing pleasure |
PIZZA QUATTRO STAGIONI |
|
PIZZA PEPPERONI |
SALMON FILLET |
Salad! |
Spaghetti Aglio E Olio |
Australian Sirloin!
Australian chilled beef rib eye steak |
Cod Fish |
The family!! |
Aunty bought drinks and cups from the grocery, an affordable and sneaky alternative |
Overall I would give a 8/10.
The bill came up to about RM166 (sorry I peep at the receipt for blog purposes), which included cod fish, 2 steaks, 1 salmon, 2 pizza, 1 pasta and a salad dish.It was worth every cent paid. Best of all, you choose the meat you want to eat. After all, you are what you eat =)
